Welcome to our Travel Blog!

Friends and supporters,

For the entire month of June, we - two of LUC’s most intrepid members - Andrijko Semaniuk and Zenon Ciz, will be braving our beloved motherland amidst the turbulent circumstances surrounding EURO 2012
International boycotts, economic manipulation, and political indiscretion culminate the years-long preparations for this prestigious tournament.  At the same time, with hundreds of thousands of tourists descending on Ukraine’s capital in the coming weeks, this stage is set for an interesting – if not calamitous – moment in Ukraine’s quest for international recognition.
Follow our misadventures by becoming a fan of the League of Ukrainian Canadians Facebook page, by clicking the link below and liking the page:

For those unable to attend the tournament themselves, live vicariously through the dauntless duo!  Check in with us daily to see our heartfelt thoughts as we experience our heritage in a uniquely Canadian way... and to make sure we haven’t been thrown out of the country yet!

After the UEFA EURO Tournament comes to its crescendo on July 1st in Kyiv, our travels will continue! We'll embark on a two-month, cross-European journey, experiencing local culture in many of the the major European countries. What will we do for six weeks, you ask? After spending some time in Lviv and western Україна, we'll parkour our way around Paris, drink some beer in Germany, and yes - even hit a CУМ Tabir along the way. (It just wouldn't be summer without a tabir, would it?) Follow all of our exploits right here as well!

Please enjoy our posts, leave some comments, and wish us well on our adventures!

-Andrijko and Zenon

PS It wouldn't be a bad idea for someone to start a fund for bail money...just in case.
